June 1, 2022 Public Solicitation (Re-solicitation) for Proposals on R&D for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources for Fiscal 2022

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to make a public solicitation (for the second time) from Thursday, June 2, through Thursday, June 30, 2022, for proposals on research and development (R&D) for expansion of radio wave resources to be conducted in and after fiscal 2022.

1. Application method

Refer to the proposal overview for further details about the application requirements. Prepare a set of proposal documents following the form specified in the Proposal Preparation Guidelines.

2. Explanatory meeting

MIC will hold a meeting as follows to provide an explanation on the content of the basic plan and the proposal overview on the R&D theme.

Date: Monday, June 13, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.
Method: Web conferencing

3. Future plans

The future schedule is assumed as specified below, but this will depend on the status of the external evaluation.

Late July: Evaluation by external experts and selection of research institutions to be contracted
Mid-August: Notification of approved/unapproved proposals
From late August: Conclusion of research consignment agreement and the start of R&D
