June 3, 2022 Analysis of Current Situation of Overseas Export of Broadcasting Content (FY2020)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled the survey results of an analysis of the current situation of the overseas export and sales of broadcasting content from Japan (FY2020).

1. Survey background

MIC is conducting a survey on the overseas export and sales of broadcasting content in cooperation with broadcasters, etc., for the purpose of quantitative understanding of the reality and trend of the overseas development of Japan's broadcasting content.
The results of the survey are compiled as the Analysis of Current Situation of Overseas Export of Broadcasting Content (FY2020).

2. Overview of survey results

The overseas sales of Japanese broadcasting content amounted to 57.11 billion yen, and the number of works sold overseas amounted to 3,539.
