June 17, 2022 Release of Report of Task Force on Complaint Processing System under Study Group on Consumer Protection Rules

The Task Force on Complaint Processing System under the Study Group on Consumer Protection Rules (Chief investigator: NIIMI Ikufumi, professor emeritus, Meiji University; lawyer) studied a new complaint processing system, and compiled a report.

1. Background and outline

Based on the 2021 Report of Study Group on Consumer Protection Rules (published in September 2021), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) set up a Task Force on Complaint Processing System under Study Group in October 2021 to study a system for finding effective solution to trouble with consumers in the telecommunications field that would not be solved smoothly through negotiation with individual business operators.
MIC releases a report compiled based on the discussion at the Task Force.

2. Future schedule

This report will be submitted to the next meeting of the Study Group on Consumer Protection Rules (Chief investigator: NIIMI Ikufumi, professor emeritus, Meiji University; lawyer).
