June 22, 2022 Result of Public Solicitation for Proposals on R&D for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources for Fiscal 2022

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made a public solicitation from Thursday, March 17 through Wednesday, April 20, 2022, for proposals on research and development (R&D) for radio wave resource expansion to be conducted from fiscal 2022. Among the proposals submitted, MIC adopted 8 proposals based on the results of the external evaluation.

1. Outline

MIC has been implementing the R&D for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources to mitigate the shortage of frequencies and promote the effective use of radio waves for the purpose of meeting the growing needs for new radio wave usage.
In this connection, MIC made a public solicitation from Thursday, March 17 through Wednesday, April 20, 2022, for proposals on R&D for radio wave resource expansion to be conducted from fiscal 2022. In response, there were 17 applications from research institutes, including private businesses, for three R&D projects.
