June 24, 2022 Administrative Guidance to Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation to Ensure Proper Administrative Work Relating to Designated Telecommunications Services, etc.

Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has given administrative guidance to Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (headed by MORIBAYASHI Masaaki, President, Executive Director) to ensure proper administrative work relating to designated telecommunications services and to submit a report.

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West) provides services called "FLET’S Hikari Light Family Type" and "FLET'S Hikari Cross." In relation to these services, it was discovered that NTT West failed to notify the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications of changes in the security tariff relating to changes in charges starting in February 1, 2022 associated with extension of the application period for new subscriptions to which discount charges are applicable, and was providing services that did not conform to the security tariff without concluding any separate agreement.
Accordingly, MIC has given administrative guidance today to NTT West regarding the occurrence of this incident.
