June 30, 2022 Setting and Notification of Standard Charge Indices for Specified Telecommunications Services Provided by NTT East and NTT West

Under Article 21, Paragraph 1 of the Telecommunications Business Act (Act No. 86 of 1984), the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) set the standard charge indices for specified telecommunications services (subscriber phone, ISDN and public telephone services) provided by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NTT East; Representative Member of the Board and President: SHIBUTANI Naoki) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West; President and Executive Director: MORIBAYASHI Masaaki). The standard charge indices will be valid for one year, beginning on October 1, 2022, and ending on September 30, 2023. MIC has today notified NTT East and NTT West of the indices.

Notes: The initial value of the standard charge index is 100 (the charge index as of April 1, 2000).
The values in parenthesis are the current standard charge indices (applicable from October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022).

Standard charge index = standard charge index of the previous applicable period × (1 + Consumer price index (CPI) volatility - Expected rate of productivity increase (X value) + exogenous factors)
