July 7, 2022 Solicitation of Opinions on Draft Ministerial Ordinance for Partial Revisions of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act, etc., and the Enactment, Revision, or Repeal of Relevant Notices, etc.

Regarding institutional development, including the revisions of ministerial ordinances involved by the enforcement of the Act to Partially Amend the Radio Act and Broadcast Act (Act No. 63 of 2022), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) drafted the ministerial ordinance for partial revisions of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act, etc., and the enactment, revision, or repeal of relevant notices, etc. From Friday, July 8, through Monday, August 8, 2022, MIC will solicit opinions on the draft of the ministerial ordinance and relevant notices, etc.

1. Background

Act to Partially Amend the Radio Act and Broadcast Act (Act No. 63 of 2022) (hereinafter referred to as the "Amendment Act") promulgated on June 10, 2022, comes into effect on the day specified by Cabinet Order within a period not exceeding nine months from the date of promulgation, except for some of the provisions.
In order to implement institutional development for this, MIC drafted the Ministerial Ordinance for Partial Revisions of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act, etc., and the Enactment, Revision, or Repeal of Relevant Notices, etc., and solicits opinions on these drafts.

3. Future schedule

With consideration of opinions submitted and the report from the Radio Regulatory Council in response to the consultation from MIC, MIC will amend the ministerial ordinances, etc.

4. How to obtain reference information

MIC will make the reference information available for viewing and obtaining copies at the Radio Policy Division, Radio Department, Telecommunications Bureau, MIC (10th Floor, MIC). MIC will also post the reference information on the public comment page of the e-Gov.
