July 25, 2022 Results of Public Solicitation for Proposals concerning FY2022 Development Demonstrations for Realizing Local 5G Services to Solve Issues (Demonstrations under Special Environments and Test Production of Terminal Systems)
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made a public solicitation for proposals concerning fiscal 2022 development demonstrations for realizing local 5G services to solve issues through a contractor (Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc.). Based on the evaluation results by the external experts' meeting, MIC selected proposals concerning demonstrations under special environments and test production of system terminals.
1. Outline
As in fiscal 2020, MIC will conduct technical studies, including those on radio wave propagation, under a wide variety of usage environments assuming various actual usage situations. At the same time, MIC will implement development demonstrations for realizing local 5G services to solve issues to create solutions that utilize local 5G. Thereby, MIC intends to realize the more flexible operation of local 5G and the inexpensive, safe, and secure utilization of local 5G.
In implementing this project, MIC solicited proposals from Wednesday, June 1, through Thursday, June 30, 2022, through a contractor.
2. Selection of proposals
1. Demonstrations under special environments (supplementary budget for FY2021)
As a result of the public solicitation, MIC received seven proposals and selected the following four proposals based on the evaluation results by the external experts' meeting.

2. Test production of terminal system (supplementary budget for FY2021)
As a result of the public solicitation, MIC received three proposals and selected the following three proposals based on the evaluation results by the external experts' meeting.
