August 5, 2022 Publication of Report on the Future Vision and Ideal System of Broadcasting in the Digital Age and Results of Solicitation of Opinions on Draft Report
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions on a Draft Report on the Future Vision and Ideal System of Broadcasting in the Digital Age, formulated by the Study Group on the Ideal Broadcasting System in the Digital Age (chaired by MITOMO Hiroshi, Professor, Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies, Waseda University), from Wednesday, June 29 through Tuesday, July 19, 2022. As a result, 110 opinions were submitted on the draft report.
Based on the results of solicitation of opinions, the Report on the Future Vision and Ideal System of Broadcasting in the Digital Age has been finalized. Accordingly, MIC releases the report and also discloses the submitted opinions.
1. Outline
MIC has held sessions of the Study Group on the Ideal Broadcasting System in the Digital Age since November 8, 2021. With the spread of broadband and the diversification of devices, such as smartphones, digitalization is rapidly advancing throughout society. Against this backdrop, the Study Group has discussed the future vision of broadcasting and the ideal broadcasting system from a medium- to long-term perspective.
The Study Group formulated a Draft Report on the Future Vision and Ideal System of Broadcasting in the Digital Age. MIC solicited opinions on the draft from Wednesday, June 29 through Tuesday, July 19, 2022, and received 110 opinions.
Based on the results of solicitation of opinions, the Report on the Future Vision and Ideal System of Broadcasting in the Digital Age has been finalized. Accordingly, MIC releases the report together with the submitted opinions.
