August 12, 2022 Results of Solicitation of Opinions on Draft ICT Cybersecurity Comprehensive Measures 2022 and Release of ICT Cybersecurity Comprehensive Measures 2022

Since January 2017, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has held sessions of the Cybersecurity Task Force (chaired by GOTO Atsuhiro, President, Institute of Information Security). The Cybersecurity Task Force has recently formulated a proposal document titled "ICT Cybersecurity Comprehensive Measures 2022," and MIC releases this document accordingly.

1. Outline

The Cybersecurity Task Force, which came into operation on January 30, 2017, compiled a proposal document entitled “ICT Cybersecurity Comprehensive Measures 2021” in July last year. Since then, while confirming the progress in the measures set forth in this proposal and considering changes in the situation, such as the promotion of a digital reform of society as a whole, the Cybersecurity Task Force has been studying how to respond to new issues and accelerate an expansion of the measures. Based on the study results, the Cybersecurity Task Force drafted a proposal document titled “ICT Cybersecurity Comprehensive Measures 2022.” MIC solicited opinions on the draft from Friday, June 17, through Saturday, July 16, 2022, and received 11 opinions.
Considering the submitted opinions, the Cybersecurity Task Force studied and finalized the document “ICT Cybersecurity Comprehensive Measures 2022.” Accordingly, MIC has decided to release the same together with the submitted opinions and the Cybersecurity Task Force’s views on the opinions.
MIC will proactively promote measures to ensure cybersecurity based on the document “ICT Cybersecurity Comprehensive Measures 2022.”
