August 25, 2022 Start of the Solicitation of Top Hundred Telework Pioneers for FY2022

To promote the spread of teleworking, a flexible way of working by utilizing ICT and having adequate time and place management, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) collects and awards precedents. Please be informed that MIC has decided to start making an appeal for applicants for this fiscal year’s top hundred telework pioneers.

1. Overview of Top Hundred Telework Pioneers

MIC recognizes enterprises and organizations advancing the introduction and utilization of teleworking as telework pioneers. It has been selecting and announcing companies with sufficient achievements as the top hundred telework pioneers annually since fiscal 2015. In addition, MIC established the Awards of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications for the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers in fiscal 2016 to be given to excellent pioneers among the top hundred telework pioneers every year. As an initiative that will contribute to a further expansion of teleworking, MIC has decided to start soliciting this fiscal year’s top hundred telework pioneers.

2. Targets

Enterprises and organizations ((including private companies, such as joint-stock companies, unlimited partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies, specified non-profit corporations), local governments, including prefectural, municipal, town, village offices, or similar organizations)

3. Application method and where to submit

Please make an application via application form, based on the operational guidelines.

4. Application period

From Thursday, August 25 through Tuesday, September 27, 2022 (Applications must be received by no later than this deadline.)

5. Screening

Under the review criteria, the Secretariat of the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers will review the telework pioneers and the top hundred telework pioneers. The Awards of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications for the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers will be decided according to a screening committee of outside experts that will select companies from among the top hundred telework pioneers for their outstanding efforts.

6. Announcement of screening results

The award recipients will be announced around November 2022.

7. Awards ceremony

The organizations selected for the Awards of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications for the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers will be commended at the award ceremony held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. The award ceremony will be held jointly with the award ceremony for the Shining Telework Awards of the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare.

9. Others

The government has designated November every year as the Telework Month, starting from 2015, and intensively implements public relations activities for the promotion and diffusion of teleworking. MIC will also start the solicitation of groups that agree with the concept of the Telework Month and can cooperate in answering questionnaires to measure effects.
