August 26, 2022 Result of Public Solicitation (Re-solicitation) for Proposals on R&D for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources for FY2022

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made a public solicitation (re-solicitation) from Thursday, June 2, through Thursday, June 30, 2022, for proposals on research and development (R&D) for expansion of radio wave resources to be conducted from FY2022. Among the proposals submitted, MIC adopted three proposals based on the results of the external evaluation.

1. Overview

MIC has been implementing the R&D for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources to mitigate the shortage of frequencies and promote the effective use of radio waves for the purpose of meeting the growing needs for new radio wave usage.
In this connection, MIC made a public solicitation (re-solicitation) from Thursday, June 2, through Thursday, June 30, 2022, for proposals on R&D for expansion of radio wave resources to be conducted from FY2022. In response, there were five applications from research institutes, including private businesses, for one R&D project.

2. Results of adoption of proposals

MIC adopted three proposals considering the results of screening at the Meeting on Evaluations of R&D Based on Radio Wave Usage Fees.
