September 1, 2022 Solicitation of Opinions on Draft Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (Fiscal 2022 Version)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has drafted the Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (fiscal 2022 Version) for the smooth and steady implementation of concrete frequency reorganization.
Accordingly, MIC will solicit opinions on the draft from Friday, September 2 through Monday, October 3, 2022.

1. Overview

MIC started formulating and publishing the Frequency Reorganization Action Plan in fiscal 2004 to smoothly and steadily implement the reorganization of particular frequencies based on the assessment results of surveys on actual radio spectrum usage, and has been setting out specific efforts in this regard.
MIC recently reviewed the results of the evaluation of the fiscal 2021 survey on actual radio spectrum usage (for frequency bands in excess of 714 MHz) and drafted the Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (fiscal 2022 version).

2. Subject and procedure of solicitation of opinions

Subject: Draft Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (fiscal 2022 version)

MIC will also post the subject and procedure of solicitation of opinions on the public comment page of the e-Gov (https://www.e-gov.go.jp/Open a new window) website, and also distribute them at the contact point below.

3. Period of solicitation of opinions

From Friday, September 2 and no later than Monday, October 3, 2022

    Opinions, if submitted by postal mail, will be accepted if postmarked the same day.

4. Future schedule

Considering the result of the solicitation of opinions, MIC will promptly announce the formulated Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (fiscal 2022 version) and implement concrete measures.
