Technical requirements for citizen radios that operate automatically or remotely, under technical requirements related to the utilization and advancement of low-powered mobile communication systems owned and maintained by customers, as part of technical requirements for upgrading of low-power wireless communications systems
The Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee (Chief Investigator: ANDO Makoto, professor emeritus, Tokyo Institute of Technology) under the Department on Information and Communications Technology of the Information and Communications Council will solicit opinions from Friday, September 23 through Monday, October 24, 2022, on its draft report on technical requirements for citizen radios that operate automatically or remotely, under technical requirements related to the utilization and advancement of low-powered mobile communication systems owned and maintained by customers, as part of technical requirements for upgrading of low-power wireless communications systems.

2. Outline
The Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee under the Department on Information and Communications Technology of the Information and Communications Council has been holding discussions on technical requirements for citizen radios that operate automatically or remotely, under technical requirements related to the utilization and advancement of low-powered mobile communication systems owned and maintained by customers, as part of technical requirements for upgrading of low-power wireless communications systems (inquiry number 2009, dated September 30, 2002) from September 2022. The Subcommitee drafted the draft report on the results of deliberations so far, and will solicit opinions from Friday, September 23 through Monday, October 24, 2022, on the draft report.
3. Period for submission of opinions
No later than Monday, October 24, 2022 (submission of opinions by postal mail must also arrive no later than the deadline)
4. Future schedule
MIC will take into consideration the submitted opinions and finalize the report.

The attached reference information is posted on the "Press Release" page of MIC's website from around 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 22, and will also be made available for viewing and obtaining copies at the Land Mobile Communications Division, Radio Department, Telecommunications Bureau, MIC.
