September 26, 2022 Authorization for Changes of Interconnection Tariffs Relating to Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation

Authorization for change of interconnection tariff for expansion of POI for IPoE system

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has granted authorization today for the change of the interconnection tariff relating to Category I designated telecommunications facilities that Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (hereafter referred to as “NTT East”) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (hereafter referred to as “NTT West”) applied for.

Under the current interconnection tariffs, the interconnection charge relating to the gateway router exchange function in IP over Ethernet (IPoE) is set per point of installation (POI) of the gateway router.
Recently, in response to requests to NTT East from service providers, single-prefecture POIs will be newly established in Ibaraki and Tochigi Prefectures, and in response to request to NTT West from service providers, in Ishikawa, Toyama, Nara, Ehime, Kagawa, Saga, and Okinawa Prefectures. However, the interconnection charge for the POI is not set in the current interconnection tariffs. Accordingly, NTT East and NTT West are amending the interconnection tariffs to add this revision.
