September 28, 2022 Result of Solicitation of Opinions on Draft Revision of the Guidelines for Consumer Protection Rules for the Telecommunications Business Act and Release of Revised Guidelines
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions on the draft revision of the Guidelines for Consumer Protection Rules for the Telecommunications Business Act, prepared based on discussions at the Study Group on Consumer Protection Rules (chief investigator: NIIMI Ikufumi, Professor Emeritus, Meiji University).
As a result, 16 opinions were submitted. Accordingly, MIC discloses the submitted opinions along with MIC’s views on the opinions and the revised Guidelines to the public.
1. Outline of revision
The draft partially revises the Guidelines for Consumer Protection Rules for the Telecommunications Business Act, based on discussions at the Study Group on Consumer Protection Rules.
2. Disclosure of the result of solicitation of opinions
As a result of the public solicitation of opinions on the draft revision of the Guidelines for Consumer Protection Rules for the Telecommunications Business Act from Tuesday, August 2 through Monday, September 5, 2022, 16 opinions were submitted.
3. How to obtain reference information
The reference information is posted on the "Press Release" page of MIC's website, and will also be made available for viewing and obtaining copies at the First Telecommunications Consumer Policy Division, Telecommunications Bureau, MIC (10th Floor, Central Government Building No.2).
They will also be posted on the public comment page of the e-Gov (https://www.e-gov.go.jp/).
