January 16, 2023 Solicitation of Proposals Concerning Project on Regional Cable TV Network Development

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will solicit proposals concerning a project on regional cable TV network development from January 16 through February 3, 2023. MIC is conducting this public solicitation as a preliminary procedure before the passage of the budget bill, so that subsidized projects can be started without delay once the budget bill is passed. It should therefore be kept in mind that the content of such projects may be subject to change, depending on the passage of the budget bill.

Municipalities, collaborating entities of municipalities, third-sector corporations, or succeeding business operators

2. Project description

As specified in Article 3 (2) 1 of the Subsidy Guidelines on Projects to Support the Development of Broadcasting Networks (hereinafter referred to as "the Subsidy Guidelines").

3. Deadline and method for submitting proposals

From Monday, January 16 through 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023

Submission method

Prepare a proposal document following the Subsidy Guidelines and the procedure of solicitation of proposals, and submit the document by any of the following methods.

• Submit the electronic data of the proposal using email or a large-capacity file transfer system specified by MIC to the competent Regional Bureau of Telecommunications (the Okinawa Office of Telecommunications in the case of Okinawa).
• Submit the proposal using the system for filing requests for subsidies (jGrants)

For details, please see the submission procedure. If you wish to implement a project using the FY2022 initial budget, please consult the competent Regional Bureau of Telecommunications, etc., rather than responding to this public solicitation.
