November 15, 2023 Inquiry to and Report from Radio Regulatory Council concerning Authorization for Termination of Basic Satellite Broadcasting Operations by Japan Broadcasting Corporation

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) today sent an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council (chaired by SASASE Iwao, Professor Emeritus at Keio University) regarding the authorization for the termination of basic satellite broadcasting operations, which was requested by Japan Broadcasting Corporation (headed by President: INABA Nobuo) under Article 86-1 of the Broadcasting Act (Act No. 132 of 1950), and received a report stating that the authorization is appropriate. Based on this report, MIC authorizes the termination of the above basic satellite broadcasting operations as of today.
