November 17, 2023 Results of Solicitation for Opinions on Draft Report of Broadcasting System Subcommittee Technical requirements for the safety and reliability of digital terrestrial television broadcasting as part of technical requirements for the safety and reliability of broadcasting

The Broadcasting System Subcommittee under the Department on Information and Communications Technology of the Information and Communications Council (headed by Chief Investigator ITAMI Makoto, Professor, Department of Applied Electronics, Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology, Tokyo University of Science) drafted a report on technical requirements for the safety and reliability of digital terrestrial television broadcasting as part of technical requirements for the safety and reliability of broadcasting, in response to Inquiry No. 2031 dated December 21, 2010. Solicitation for opinions on this report was held from Wednesday, September 27, through Thursday, October 26, 2023.
As a result, three opinions were submitted, and the opinions submitted and the Subcommittee’s views on them are now made public.

The opinions submitted, along with the Broadcasting System Subcommittee’s views on them, are shown in Attachment 1.
The Subcommittee’s final report, based on the results of the solicitation for opinions, is shown in Attachment 2.

3. Future plans

This draft report will be discussed at the next meeting of the Information and Communications Technology Subcommittee (chaired by OIE Yuji, Professor Emeritus of Kyushu Institute of Technology) under the Information and Communications Council.
