November 29, 2023 Licensing for Entry into Special Mail Business
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) submitted an inquiry to the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council (chaired by AIDA Hitoshi, professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo) concerning permission for the following applicants: (1) Chuoh Sharyo Yuso Co., Ltd. (headed by ISHIKAWA Shinichi, President and Representative Director) and nine other parties to engage in special mail business and establish correspondence mail management regulations. (2) Chuoh Sharyo Yuso Co., Ltd. and Honda Parts Kansai K.K. (headed by IHARA Jiro, President and Representative Director) to establish correspondence mail management regulations. (3) Akabou Okinawaken Keijidosha Kyodo Kumiai (headed by KOMESU Morikazu, Representative Director) to change correspondence mail management regulations. A reply was received from the Council stating its approval as inquired.
In response to the report, MIC granted permission and approval to the applicants today.
With the permission given to the ten applicants, including Chuoh Sharyo Yuso Co., Ltd., the number of special mail business licensees reached 590. Special mail businesses are positioned as businesses that provide various services by responding to the needs of sophisticated and diversifying users and making creative efforts. These business operators are expected to enter the mail service industry to increase users’ selection range of services.
A summary of applications for licenses and approvals is shown in the attachment, and the status of entry into the special mail business is shown for reference.
