November 2, 2023 Results of Japan-ASEAN Open RAN Symposium

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) held the Japan-ASEAN Open RAN Symposium as a commemorative event for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.

1. Purpose of the Symposium

This year marks the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation. Improvement in digital connectivity is a challenge for the ASEAN region to achieve a Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP). In light of this situation, MIC held the ASEAN-Japan Open RAN Symposium with the aim of deepening the understanding of Open RAN in the ASEAN region.

Japan: Representatives of private companies (NTT DOCOMO, INC., Olympus Corporation, JTOWER Inc., SORAMITSU Co., Ltd., TradeWaltz Inc., NEC Corporation, Fujitsu Limited, Rakuten Symphony Inc., Ryobi Systems Co., ltd.) and MIC
