November 6, 2023 Results of Solicitation for Opinions on Draft Notice Partially Amending Subject Establishing Procedures for Characteristic Tests Additional Characteristic Test Methods for base stations and land mobile stations of Millimeter Wave Band 5th Generation Mobile Communications System (5G)
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) conducted a solicitation for opinions from Friday, September 1 through Monday, October 2, 2023, on a draft Notice partially amending the 2004 MIC Notice No. 88 (establishing test procedures for characteristic tests). As a result, three opinions were submitted, and MIC has decided to open the submitted opinions and MIC’s views on them to the public.
1. Background
Concerning the Millimeter Wave Band 5th Generation Mobile Communications System, MIC decided to partially amend its Notice No. 88 of 2004 pursuant to the provisions of Appended Table 1, item 1 (3) of the Ordinance Regulating Technical regulations Concerning Technical regulations Conformity Certification, etc. of Specified Radio Equipment (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 37 of 1981, hereafter referred to as the “Certification Regulations”). Accordingly, MIC solicited opinions from Friday, September 1 through Monday, October 2, 2023, on the draft Notice amending part of the 2004 MIC Notice No. 88 (establishing test procedures for characteristic tests).

4. Enforcement of the Notice
