November 7, 2023 Selection of Project Plans for FY2023 Demonstration Project for Regional Information Dissemination Using Visual Content

Based on the results of an evaluation by outside experts, a number of project plans were selected for the fiscal 2023 Demonstration Project for Regional Information Dissemination Using Visual Content.

1. Project overview

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) is promoting the overseas development of broadcast content from the perspective of contributing to the revitalization of regional economies and the strengthening of soft power.
Under these circumstances, local public bodies and organizations have the desire to use video content to disseminate information to overseas markets. However, they lack connections with broadcasters and other video producers and lack the know-how to disseminate information. Due to these issues, there are many cases where they are unable to take the plunge into overseas information dissemination.
In light of these issues, this project aims to promote regional information dissemination using visual content by facilitating the formation of deals between local public bodies and regional broadcasters. In addition, this project aims to verify effective transmission methods in Australia and New Zealand, where local governments have high needs for information transmission.
