An election of the Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) took place at the 16th APT General Assembly on November 7, 2023, and Mr. KONDO Masanori from Japan was re-elected.

(Total number of votes cast: 32 (including zero invalid votes) and four abstentions)

In the APT election, even if there is only one candidate, voting is held, and the candidate who wins the majority of the total votes is elected.

Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT)
The APT was established in 1979 as an international organization specializing in telecommunications in the Asia-Pacific region. The APT is headquartered in Thailand (Bangkok). For the balanced development of telecommunications in the region, the APT coordinates regional policies, such as human resource development, standardization, and wireless communication, through training and seminars.
