The Comprehensive Economic Measures for Complete Deflation Exit (Cabinet Decision on November 2, 2023) included the promotion of competition in mobile phone rates and services. In light of this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled and published the Plan for Promoting Competition in the Mobile Telecommunications Market to Enrich Daily Life as a measure that MIC will promptly address in the future.

1. About This Plan

Mobile telecommunications are characterized by rapid technological innovation and are, most importantly, integral to the daily lives of citizens. For this reason, daily life will be more affluent if mobile telecommunications services are of good quality at acceptable rates. On the other hand, given the oligopolistic environment, it is important to accelerate and develop an environment that leads to price- and service-oriented competition.
Recently, the Comprehensive Economic Measures for Complete Deflation Exit included the promotion of competition in mobile phone rates and services.
