December 12, 2023 Public Solicitation for Proposals for Disaster Resistance Enhancement Project Using Optical Cable TV

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to conduct public solicitation for proposals related to the Disaster Resistance Enhancement Project by Using Optical Cable TV from Friday, December 15, 2023, through Monday, January 15, 2024.

2. Project overview

(1) Project description
1. Cable TV fiber-optic conversion support program and 2. Support program for improvement of common listening facilities in outlying areas, as described in Article 3 (8) (1) of the Subsidy Grant Guidelines for Broadcasting Network Development Support Project.
(2) Implementing entity
1. Cable TV fiber-optic conversion support program
Municipalities, municipal partnership entities, and third-sector corporations or successor entities
2. Support program for improvement of common listening facilities in outlying areas Municipalities or municipal partnership entities

3. Submission deadlines and method of submitting proposal documents

(1) Deadline for submission
From Friday, December 15, 2023, and no later than noon on Monday, January 15, 2024
(2) Submission method
Proposals must be prepared in accordance with the Subsidy Grant Guidelines and Public Solicitation Guidelines (Attachments 1 and 2) and submitted using one of the following methods.

• Submit electronic files to the Regional Bureau of Telecommunications (or the Okinawa Office of Telecommunications), whichever has jurisdiction over the applicant’s location via email or a large file transfer system, etc., designated by MIC.
• Submission through JGrants (the grant electronic application system) https://www.jgrants-portal.go.jp/
