December 18, 2023 Results of a meeting between Mr. MATSUMOTO Takeaki, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, and Minister of Post and Telecommunications of the Kingdom of Cambodia

Today, Mr. MATSUMOTO Takeaki, the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, held a meeting at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications with H.E. Dr. Chea Vandeth, the Minister of Post and Telecommunications of the Kingdom of Cambodia. They confirmed that cooperation between the two countries would be further promoted for the development of the digital economy and society in Cambodia.
In addition, Mr. MATSUMOTO Takeaki, the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, and H.E. Dr. Chea Vandeth, the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, exchanged Joint Minutes on future cooperation in the digital field between the two countries in the presence of the leaders of the two countries at a ceremony for the exchange held after the Japan-Cambodia Summit Meeting.

1. Ministers’ Meeting

Today, Mr. MATSUMOTO Takeaki, the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, and H.E. Dr. Chea Vandeth, the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, held a meeting at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. They agreed to promote cooperation between the two countries further to realize Cambodia’s digital transformation through the sharing of Japanese knowledge and experiences and technical assistance for the development of the digital economy and society in Cambodia.

2. Joint Minutes on the content of future cooperation in the digital field

Mr. MATSUMOTO Takeaki, the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, and H.E. Dr. Chea Vandeth, the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, signed “Joint Minutes between Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan and Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Cambodia on cooperation for development of the digital economy and society in Cambodia“ in order to cooperate on the development of the digital economy and society in Cambodia.
The exchange of the Joint Minutes took place in the presence of Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia at a document exchange ceremony held after the Japan-Cambodia Summit Meeting
