December 8, 2023 Results of Solicitation for Opinions on Draft Report of Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee
Technical requirements for 9.7-GHz band phased-array weather radars, etc., as part of technical requirements for weather radars

The Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee (headed by Chief Investigator MITSUGI Jin, Professor, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Graduate School of Media and Governance, Keio University) of the Department on Information and Communications Technology under the Information and Communications Council solicited opinions from Saturday, October 21 through Monday, November 20, 2023 on technical requirements for 9.7-GHz band phased-array weather radars, etc. as part of technical requirements for weather radars (inquiry number 2040 of September 27, 2017).
As a result, one opinion was submitted, and the submitted opinion and the Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee’s view on the opinion are now made public.

3. Future plans

The draft report will be discussed at the next meeting of the Department on Information and Communications Technology (chaired by OIE Yuji, Professor Emeritus of Kyushu Institute of Technology) under the Information and Communications Council, based on the results of the solicitation for opinions.
