February 17, 2023 Certification of a Management Capability Enhancement Promotion Organization in the Cable Television Broadcasting Sector Pursuant to the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Business Enhancement Act

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today certified the Japan Cable and Telecommunications Association (headed by WATANABE Katsuya, President) as a management capability enhancement promotion organization in the cable television broadcasting sector, in accordance with the provisions of Article 39, Paragraph 1 of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Business Enhancement Act (Act No. 18 of 1999).

1. Background

Under the provisions of Article 39, Paragraph 1 of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Business Enhancement Act, where the competent minister receives an application from a person who engages in business sector-specific management capability enhancement promotion services in a sector for which guidelines specific to the business sector have been set out, and who is deemed to meet the sector-specific guidelines, the competent minister may certify that person as one engaging in business sector-specific management capability enhancement promotion services in the sector concerned.
MIC has certified the following organization as a management capability enhancement promotion organization in the cable television broadcasting sector stipulated in the guidelines specific to the business sector (Guidelines on Management Capability Enhancement in the Cable Television Broadcasting Sector (MIC Notice No. 417 of 2016)).
