February 20, 2023 Solicitation of Proposals Subject to Subsidies for Projects to Support Radio System Dissemination (Project to Support Disaster Resistance Reinforcement of Radio Stations, Including Terrestrial Basic Broadcasting Stations)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will solicit proposals subject to the Subsidies for Projects to Support Radio System Dissemination (Project to Support Disaster Resistance Reinforcement of Radio Stations, including Terrestrial Basic Broadcasting Stations) as described in the attached solicitation procedure.

2. Project overview

1. Implementing entities

Prefectures, municipalities (including collaborating entities of multiple prefectures or municipalities), terrestrial basic broadcasters, etc. (including collaborating entities of multiple terrestrial basic broadcasters, etc.), and general incorporated associations, etc.

2. Project description

As specified in Article 3 (2) (h) of the Subsidy Grant Guidelines for Projects to Support Radio System Dissemination (hereinafter referred to as the “Subsidy Grant Guidelines”).

3. Method for submitting proposals

1. Submission period

From Monday, February 20 through 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023

2. Application method

Applications may be made by preparing a proposal document following the Subsidy Guidelines and the procedure for solicitation of proposals, and submitting the document by any of the following methods.

  • 1.
    Submit in person or by post one paper copy of the material and one copy recorded on electromagnetic recording media to the competent Regional Bureau of Telecommunications, etc. (the Okinawa Office of Telecommunications in the case of Okinawa).
  • 2.
    Submit the document by email or a large-capacity file transfer system specified by MIC to the competent Regional Bureau of Telecommunications (the Okinawa Office of Telecommunications in the case of Okinawa).
  • 3.
    Submit the proposal via the system for filing requests for subsidies (jGrants).

    For details, please see the submission procedure.
  • 2.
    MIC is conducting procedures for this solicitation of proposals before the FY2023 budget bill passes the Diet, so that projects can be started without delay once the budget bill is passed. It should therefore be kept in mind that actual project implementation is conditional upon the FY2023 budget bill passing the Diet, and that the content, etc. may be subject to change.
