March 8, 2023 Report from Radio Regulatory Council Pertaining to Authorization of Maintenance Regulations of Radio Equipment of Aircraft Stations

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) submitted an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council (chaired by SASASE Iwao, Professor Emeritus, Keio University) regarding the authorization of the maintenance regulations of radio equipment of aircraft stations, in response to an application from Fuji Dream Airlines, Co., Ltd. MIC has received a report from the Council stating that it is appropriate to authorize the regulations.

1. Overview

MIC examined the application of Fuji Dream Airlines, Co., Ltd. for authorization of the maintenance regulations of radio equipment of aircraft stations. The application was considered to comply with relevant laws and regulations. Accordingly, MIC submitted an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council today about the authorization of the maintenance regulations of radio equipment of aircraft stations in response to the application and received a report from the Council stating that it is appropriate to authorize the regulations.

2. Future plans

In response to today's report from the Radio Regulatory Council, MIC will promptly authorize the applicant's maintenance regulations of radio equipment of aircraft stations.

3. How to obtain reference information

MIC will make the reference information available for viewing and obtaining copies at the Fixed and Satellite Radio Communications Division, Radio Department, Telecommunications Bureau, MIC.
