April 26, 2023 Results of Solicitation for Opinions on the Draft Notice on Specifying Range of Available Frequencies for Specified Experimental Stations

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) conducted a solicitation for opinions from Wednesday, March 15, 2023, through Friday, April 14, 2023. This solicitation was conducted to review the range of frequencies that can be used as specified experimental stations, which are publicly notified in accordance with Article 7, Item 5 of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act (Radio Regulatory Commission Rules No. 14, 1950).

As a result, four opinions were submitted, and MIC has decided to make public the opinions submitted and MIC’s views on these opinions.

1. Background

Based on the provisions of Article 7, Item 5 of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act, the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications is to officially announce the conditions, such as frequencies, areas, and periods, available for specified experimental stations. Since 2004, the range of available frequencies has been officially announced from July 1 of each year.

MIC decided to review the range of frequencies available for specified experimental stations and solicited opinions from March 15, 2023, through April 14, 2023.

2. Future plans

Based on the results, MIC will promptly establish the Notice.
