April 3, 2023 Decision on Granting Subsidy for Disaster Resistance Enhancement Project by Using Optical Cable TV to Establish New Daily Lives

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to grant a subsidy for the Disaster Resistance Enhancement Project by Using Optical Cable TV to Establish New Daily Lives under the fiscal 2022 initial budget.

1. Project overview

This project provides subsidies to cover a portion of the costs for municipalities, third-sector corporations, and other entities to convert their cable TV networks to optical fiber networks. The aim is to ensure reliable and stable information transmission during disasters in local communities and to strengthen the networks’ disaster resilience.
MIC conducted a public solicitation for this project from January 16 through February 3, 2023.

Considering the evaluation by external experts, MIC has decided today to grant the subsidy to the following entity:
