June 16, 2023 Signing of Memorandum of Cooperation between MIC and the Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações of Portugal

On June 16, 2023, Mr. YOSHIDA Hiroshi, Vice-Minister for Policy Coordination, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan, held a bilateral meeting with Mr. João Cadete de Matos, Chairman of the Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações of the Portuguese Republic. The Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of telecommunications and postal services was signed between MIC and the Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (National Communications Agency of the Portuguese Republic).

The Memorandum of Cooperation covers items in the field of telecommunications and postal sectors, including the followings:

• Resilient telecommunications networks (including 5G and Beyond 5G/6G)
• Development of broadband networks
• Digital Transformation (DX)
• Improvement of postal services and networks

Based on this MOU, cooperation between the two countries, will be promote further more.
