The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) received today the final report from the Information and Communications Council (chaired by ENDO Nobuhiro, Executive Advisor of NEC Corporation) on the Information and Communications Policies with a View to 2030 (Inquiry No. 26, September 30, 2021).
A summary of this report is shown below.

1. Background

In June 2022, the Information and Communications Council compiled its first report, entitled “Information and Communications Policies with a View to 2030 (Inquiry No. 26, September 30, 2021),” to discuss the direction of future information and communications policies with a view to 2030, taking into account future trends in markets, technologies, and usage in the information and communications field. In light of the rapid progress of information and communications technology and continuing significant changes in social conditions, the Council’s deliberations were resumed in January 2023. The Information and Communications Policy Committee and the Policy Board recently reviewed the report, and the final report was compiled at Council’s 48th meeting today.

2. Future plans

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will proceed diligently with its efforts based on this final report.
