June 5, 2023 Results of Acceptance of License Applications for Basic Satellite Broadcasting on Right-Handed Circular Polarization Channels in the Broadcasting Satellite Services Band

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) accepted license applications for basic satellite broadcasting (ultra-high-definition television broadcasting (limited to 4K broadcasting)) on right-handed circular polarization channels in the Broadcasting Satellite Services band from Wednesday, March 22 through Wednesday, May 31, 2023. As a result, MIC received applications from five applicants. The following is a summary of each applicant’s application.

2. Future plans

MIC will review the applications received and, after consulting with the Radio Regulatory Council, aim to grant the licenses by the summer of 2023.
