August 15, 2023 Results of Solicitation for Opinions on Draft Official Directive Partially Amending Examination Standards Related to the Radio Act Relaxation of the interference protection ratio for monophonic broadcasting of temporary disaster broadcast stations in times of interference

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions from Tuesday, May 23 through Wednesday, June 21, 2023, on a draft official directive to partially amend the Examination Standards Related to the Radio Act (Official Directive of MIC No. 67 of 2001), aiming to relax the interference protection ratio for monophonic broadcasting of temporary disaster broadcasting stations. As a result, two opinions were submitted. Accordingly, the MIC has decided to disclose the submitted opinions and its views on them publicly.

Results of solicitation for opinions

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has drafted an official directive to partially amend the Examination Standards Related to the Radio Act (Official Directive of MIC No. 67 of 2001) to relax the interference protection ratio for the monophonic broadcasting of temporary disaster broadcasting stations. Accordingly, MIC solicited opinions on this matter from Tuesday, May 23 through Wednesday, June 21, 2023.
Based on the opinions submitted, MIC established the Official Directive (MIC Official Directive No. 36, August 15, 2023) to amend the Examination Standards related to the Radio Act partially.
