August 9, 2023 Determination of Candidates for Project to Reinforce Regional Information Transmission Capabilities through Broadcast Content

Based on the results of an evaluation by external experts, candidates for adoption have been decided for the Project to Reinforce Regional Information Transmission Capabilities through Broadcast Content.

1. Project overview

This project will strengthen information dissemination from various regions by transmitting the attractiveness of each region of Japan, such as its nature, culture, and local and agricultural products, to the rest of the world through video content. The project will increase other countries’ interest in Japan and attract demand from overseas to each region, creating a virtuous cycle of inbound and outbound travel, thus promoting the revitalization of regional economies.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), through a subsidized company (executive organization), conducted a public solicitation for this project from Friday, June 9 through Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

2. Results of selection

Based on the results of the evaluation by external experts, 28 applicants were selected as candidates for adoption.
