November 12, 2024 Partial Report from the Information and Communications Council Regarding Technical Requirements for X-band Coastal Surveillance Radars (hereinafter referred to as the “X-band Technical Requirements”) as Part of Technical Requirements for Maritime Radio Communication Equipment (hereinafter referred to as the “Maritime Technical Requirements”)
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) today received a partial report from the Information and Communications Council, chaired by ENDO Nobuhiro, special advisor to NEC Corporation, on the X-band Technical Requirements, which are part of the Upgrade Technical Requirements (Consultation No. 50, dated April 23, 1990).
1. Overview
Since April 2024, the Aeronautical and Maritime Radiocommunications Committee, under the ICT Subcommittee of the Information and Communications Council, has been considering the expansion of the currently used frequency bands and technical requirements for introducing the solidification method related to the X-band Technical Requirements, part of the Upgrade Technical Requirements (Information and Communications Council Consultation No. 50 of 1990). Today, we have received a partial report from the Council.
2. Distribution of materials, etc.
The information will be made available for inspection and distribution at the Core/Satellite Mobile Communications Division, Radio Department, Telecommunications Bureau, MIC
3. Upcoming schedule
Based on this partial report, the MIC plans to promptly revise the relevant systems.
