November 8, 2024 Acceptance of License Applications for Complementary FM Relay Stations

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to accept license applications for complementary FM relay stations for AM (medium wave) radio broadcasts from Monday, November 11, 2024 to Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

1. Overview

 Regarding license applications for basic terrestrial broadcasting stations, the MIC stipulates the following in MIC Notice No. 183 of 2014 (concerning basic broadcasting stations requiring applications within the public notice period pursuant to Article 6-4, Item 7 of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act): the location, frequency, and antenna power of the transmission facilities that must be applied for within the period announced by the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications.
 This time, MIC announces information concerning license applications as shown below, and will accept license applications for the complementary FM relay station for AM medium-frequency radio broadcasting.

 From 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024 to 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024
 (Applications submitted by mail must arrive no later than the deadline)
 (2) Target region for basic terrestrial broadcasting, installation (transmission) location, frequency, and antenna power of radio equipment used at basic terrestrial broadcasting stations
