Since Monday, November 8, 2021, the MIC has convened Study Group meetings to discuss the future vision of broadcasting and broadcasting systems from a mid- to long-term perspective. In light of the spread of broadband and the diversification of devices, such as smartphones, these discussions address the rapid proliferation of digitization across societies. On Friday, August 5, 2022, the Study Group published its 1st report on this theme, followed by the release of the 2nd report on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
Since then, we have repeatedly discussed the future vision of broadcasting, the replacement of small-scale relay stations with broadband, and management options for radio broadcasting.
Recently, the Study Group formulated the draft 3rd Report on the same theme. We solicited opinions on the report from Friday, October 25, 2024, to Friday, November 15, 2024, and received 104 opinions.
Based on the results of the opinion solicitation, the draft 3rd Report was finalized.
