December 13, 2024 Approval of an Establishment Plan for Specified Base Stations for Proliferating 5th Generation Mobile Communications Systems in the 4.9 GHz Band (hereinafter referred to as the "Establishment Plan")

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) consulted the Radio Regulatory Council, chaired by SASASE Iwao, professor emeritus of Keio University, on the approval of the Establishment Plan, and today received a report stating that the Establishment Plan is appropriate. Based on this report, we have conditionally approved the Establishment Plan of one applicant and designated frequencies.

1. Report from the Radio Regulatory Council

 In accordance with the Guideline for Opening Specified Base Stations for Proliferating 5th Generation Mobile Communications Systems in the 4.9 GHz Band (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Notification No. 295 of 2024), the MIC accepted applications for approval of Establishment Plans for specified base stations using frequencies above 4,900 MHz and below 5,000 MHz from Monday, September 30, 2024, to Wednesday, October 30, 2024. The MIC received one application.
 The MIC reviewed the application for approval of the Establishment Plan and consulted the Radio Regulatory Council regarding the matter. Today, we received a report stating that the Establishment Plan is appropriate.

2. Approval of Establishment Plan

 Based on the report from the Radio Regulatory Council, we have conditionally approved the Establishment Plan of the applicant and designated the following frequencies:
