March 15, 2024 Approval of Business Plans, etc. of Telecommunication Relay Service Provider and Support Organization for FY2024

 The Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications today approved the business plan and income and expenditure budget for FY2024, submitted from the telecommunication relay service provider and support organization based on the Act on Facilitation of Telecommunications Use for Persons with Hearing Impairments, etc. (No. 53 of 2020, hereinafter referred to as the “Act”).
 MIC also approved the amount and means of delivering grants for FY2024 as well as the amount and means of collecting contributions, as applied by the telecommunication relay service support agency.

1. Approval regarding the business plan and income and expenditure budget of the telecommunication relay service provider

 The Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications today approved the business plan and income and expenditure budget for fiscal year 2024, submitted by telecommunication relay service provider, the Nippon Foundation Telecommunications Relay Service (headed by ONUMA Naoki), pursuant to Article 11, Paragraph 1 of the Act.

2. Approval regarding the business plan and income and expenditure budget of the telecommunication relay service support agency

 The Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications today approved the business plan and income and expenditure budget for fiscal year 2024 submitted by the telecommunication relay service support agency, the Telecommunications Carriers Association (headed by MIYAGAWA Junichi, President) pursuant to Article 23, Paragraph 1 of the Act.

3. Approval regarding grants and contributions for the telecommunication relay service support agency

 The Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications today approved the amount and means of delivering grants for FY2024, submitted by the telecommunication relay service support agency, the Telecommunications Carriers Association (headed by MIYAKAWA Junichi, President) pursuant to Article 24, Paragraph 2 of the Act.
 The Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications today also approved the amount and means of collecting contributions for FY2024 submitted by the Association pursuant to Article 25, Paragraph 2 of the Act.
 The amount of grants for FY2024 totaled approximately 3,053 million yen.
