March 18, 2024 Certification of Time-Stamping Services

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) today certified the Time-Stamping Services applied by GMO GlobalSign K.K. (headed by CHUJO Ichiro, President).

 The Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications can approve Time-Stamping Services that issue timestamps in a reliable and stable manner as certified Time-Stamping Services according to the Rules Concerning the Certification of Time-stamping Services (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Notice No. 146 of 2021; hereinafter referred to as the “MIC Notice”).
 Following the application from GMO GlobalSign K.K. for certification of its Time-Stamping Services under the provisions of Article 3, Paragraph 1 of the MIC Notice, the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications certified the applied services in accordance with those provisions, as the services are deemed to conform to the requirements for certification.
 The certification will be announced in a separate public notice under the provisions of Article 3, Paragraph 4 of the MIC Notice.

By comparing the information on the timestamp with the information available from the original electronic data, it is possible to reliably and easily verify that the data has not been tampered with since the timestamp was issued.
