March 18, 2024 Announcement of Fund Management Policy (Amendment) and Requirements for Supporting International Standardization Activities through the Innovative Information and Communications Technology (Beyond 5G (6G)) Fund Project
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) established the “Fund Management Policy (Amendment)” and “Requirements for Supporting International Standardization Activities” to renew the support of international standardization activities through the Innovative Information and Communications Technology (Beyond 5G (6G)) Fund Project, and informed them to the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT).
1. Background and outline
MIC established the “Fund Management Policy (Amendment)” which compiles processes related to the decision, etc. of selected international standardization activities, and the “Requirements for Supporting International Standardization Activities” to renew the support of international standardization activities for those who implement the projects of social implementation and overseas expansion oriented strategic programs through the Innovative Information and Communications Technology (Beyond 5G (6G)) Fund Project based on “Ways to Support International Standardization Activities through the Innovative Information and Communications Technology (Beyond 5G (6G))” (March 8, 2024, the Working Group for Project Evaluation, etc. of the Innovative Information and Communications Technology Project of the Information and Communications Council).
2. Future plans
As for the future, NICT plans to implement support for international standardization activities through the Innovative Information and Communications Technology (Beyond 5G (6G)) Fund Project based on related laws and regulations, the Fund Management Policy, and Requirements for Supporting International Standardization Activities.
