March 26, 2024 Decision on the Selection of Candidate Subsidized Entities (Executive Organizations) for the “Project to Reinforce Regional Information Transmission Capabilities through Broadcast Content” under the FY2023 Supplementary Budget and the FY2024 Budget
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has announced the selection of candidate subsidized entities (Executive Organizations) for the “Project to Reinforce Regional Information Transmission Capabilities through Broadcast Content” under the FY2023 Supplementary Budget and the FY2024 Budget.
1. Outline of the project
This project is intended to encourage private companies, etc., to produce content that conveys the appeal of regions in Japan through collaboration with local governments and local industries and to broadcast the content overseas. The project also aims to maintain and strengthen Japan’s information transmission capabilities by fostering interest in and demand for the regions concerned by implementing interrelated projects. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has accordingly selected the candidates for the subsidized entities (hereinafter referred to as “Executive Organizations”) for this grant project, as specified below.
2. Candidates for Executive Organizations
During the application period from Monday, February 5 to Thursday, February 29, 2024, two entities submitted applications. Following a thorough evaluation by external experts, the following organizations have been selected as candidates.

3. Future plans
- April 2024: Notification of the decision on Executive Organizations
- May 2024: Public call for applications from indirectly subsidized entities
- June-July 2024: Selection of candidates for indirectly subsidized entities
- January 2025: Completion of the indirectly subsidized projects
