May 14, 2024 The Results of the Solicitation for Opinions on the Draft Ministerial Ordinance Partially Revising the Telecommunications Business Reporting Regulations

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions on a draft ministerial ordinance partially revising the Telecommunications Business Reporting Regulations from Wednesday, March 20 to Thursday, April 18, 2024. As a result, one opinion was submitted. The opinion submitted along with the MIC's position on it will be made available.

1. Overview

 The Ministerial Ordinance Partially Revising the Enforcement Regulations of the Telecommunications Business Act (MIC Ordinance No. 80 of 2023) has been enforced to revise Article 27-3 of the Telecommunications Business Act (Act No. 86 of 1984). This revision prohibits the separation of communication charges and device charges and excessive restrictions on customers. In response to this enforcement, MIC will develop the necessary provisions regarding the Telecommunications Business Reporting Regulations (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Ordinance No. 46 of 1988).

2. The results of the solicitation for opinions

 MIC has prepared a draft ministerial ordinance partially revising the Telecommunications Business Reporting Regulations and solicited opinions from Wednesday, March 20 to Thursday, April 18, 2024, in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act (Act No. 88, 1993).
 As a result, one opinion was submitted.

3. Future plans

 MIC plans to finalize the draft ministerial ordinance based on the results of the solicitation of opinions and promulgate it by the end of May 2024.
 The ministerial ordinance will come into force on the date of promulgation as specified in the draft ministerial ordinance and will apply to reports with deadlines on or after the date of enforcement.
