May 27, 2024 Recognition for "Radio Day and Information and Communications Month" in FY 2024

 On Monday, June 3, 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and the Information and Communications Month Promotion Council, chaired by ENDO Nobuhiro, Vice Chairman of Nippon Keidanren, Chairman of the Cybersecurity Committee, and Special Advisor to NEC Corporation, will recognize individuals and organizations that have contributed to the use of radio waves or the development of information and communications. This recognition is conducted in commemoration of Radio Day (Saturday, June 1, 2024) and Information and Communications Month (from Wednesday, May 15, to Saturday, June 15, 2024).

3. Recognition by Information and Communications Month Promotion Council Chairman

 Alongside the recognition by the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications for "Information and Communications Month," the Chairman of the Information and Communications Month Promotion Council will recognize individuals who have contributed to the development of information and communications.
　Rinzaburo Shida Award: One individual
　Information and Communication Achievement Award: Five individuals

• Radio Day
   In 1950, the Radio Act, the Broadcasting Act, and the Act for Establishing Radio Regulatory Commission came into effect, significantly opening up the use of radio waves to the public. In commemoration of this event, "Radio Day" was established to spread and enhance knowledge of radio wave usage among all segments of the public and to contribute to the promotion of radio wave use.
• Information and Communications Month
   The Information and Communications Month was established in 1985 during the reform of the information and communications system, with the aim of promoting widespread and active use of information and communications. Throughout this month, various events related to information and communications are held nationwide to enhance public understanding and cooperation in these areas, enriching our lives.
