May 7, 2024 Result of Public Solicitation for Research Management Organizations under FY2024 “Start-up and Budding Researchers Support Program”
Announcement that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has publicly solicited and selected a research management organization under the FY2024 “Start-up and Budding Researchers Support Program.”
1. Purpose of the project
MIC launched the “Start-up and Budding Researchers Support Program” (hereinafter referred to as the “Program”) in FY2023. The aim is to cultivate next-generation industries that create and utilize cutting-edge ICT by providing end-to-end support, from research and development to commercialization, under the shared roles of the government and private sectors, including using a network of support organizations in various regions and fields across Japan.
The MIC publicly solicited research management organizations (hereinafter referred to as “subsidized companies”) for the Program and selected an organization to receive subsidy as follows.
2. Selection of subsidized company
Only one company submitted an application during the public solicitation for subsidy from Friday, March 1 to Friday, March 29, 2024. Following the evaluation results by external experts, the company below was selected.
- KADOKAWA ASCII Research Laboratories, Inc.
3. Future plans
- May 2024: Grant decision for directly subsidized companies
- June 2024: Selection of candidates for indirectly subsidized companies
- March 2025: Completion of the indirectly subsidized projects
