June 14, 2024 Results of the Public Solicitation for R&D Proposals on the Expansion of Radio Resources to Be Implemented from FY 2024
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) issued a public solicitation for R&D proposals on the expansion of radio frequency resources to be newly implemented from FY 2024. The public solicitation was conducted from Friday, March 22 to Monday, April 22 of the same year. The proposals submitted underwent external evaluation, and 13 proposals were selected based on the evaluation results.
1. Overview
To meet the growing demand for radio waves, the MIC is conducting R&D to expand radio wave resources. This R&D aims to reduce frequency congestion and enhance the efficient utilization of radio waves.
The MIC issued a public solicitation for R&D proposals on the expansion of radio resources to be newly implemented from FY 2024, from Friday, March 22 to Monday, April 22, 2024. The MIC received 23 applications from private companies and other research institutions for four R&D themes.
2. Results of the adoption
Based on the review results from the "Meeting on the Evaluation of R&D, etc., by Radio Usage Charges," 13 proposals were adopted.
